Wheelden started producing print in 1946 when the current Managing Director's great uncle, Mr Elliot Wheelden, opened a small print shop in Bradford. It's main business was the printing of betting tickets for a major local bookmaker but it wasn't long before it was producing commercial print for local businesses. As the business developed, larger premises were sought and in 1980 we moved to our present location in purpose built premises on Wakefield Road.
Although commercial print was still the main element of the business, we produced the Bradford City Football programme for many years and also produced all the football coupons for William Hill Bookmakers.
In 1994 Peter Minchella, the present Managing Director, became involved in the business and continual investment over the last ten years has seen the introduction of a five colour press, digital print, computer to plate and full in-house finishing facilities. These additions have seen Wheelden Print become a comprehensive provider of print solutions. |
